Privacy Policy
Effective July 19, 2026
EquityBridge connects verified nonprofits with funders and advisers. Trust is the product, and that starts with how we handle your information: we collect only what the platform needs, we never sell it, and funder giving preferences stay private.
1. What this policy covers
This policy describes how EquityBridge collects, uses, and shares information when you visit theequitybridge.co, create an account, build an organization profile, or use our discovery and introduction features. It applies to nonprofits, funders, advisers, and visitors alike.
2. Information we collect
We collect three kinds of information:
- Account information — your name, email address, role, and sign-in credentials (we support passkeys, so we may store a public key rather than a password).
- Profile information — details you or your organization choose to publish, such as mission, funding priorities, location, cause areas, photos, and documents submitted for verification.
- Usage information — how you interact with the platform (pages visited, searches run, introduction requests sent or received), along with device and log data like IP address and browser type.
3. How we use information
We use information to operate the platform: to verify organizations, power discovery and Alignment Scores, facilitate double-opt-in introductions, secure accounts, respond to support requests, and improve the product. We may send transactional emails (verification, password reset, introduction notifications) and, with your consent, product updates you can opt out of at any time.
4. What we share — and what we never share
Public organization profiles are visible to anyone; organizations control their visibility settings. When both sides accept an Introduction Request, we share the contact details each party chose to include.
We never sell personal information. Funder giving preferences are private — they are used only to power matching and are never published, sold, or shared with third parties. We share information with service providers who help us run the platform (hosting, email delivery, analytics) under contractual confidentiality obligations, and when required by law.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to secure the platform, and privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising.
6. Data security
We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls, and passkey-based authentication. No system is perfectly secure, so we also limit what we collect and retain to what the platform needs.
7. Retention and your choices
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. You can access and update your profile at any time, and you can ask us to correct or delete your personal information by emailing privacy@theequitybridge.co. Deleting your account removes your profile from discovery.
8. Children
EquityBridge is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and notify account holders by email or an in-product notice before the changes take effect.
